Photography Tour to Pushkar
Single Supplement: ₹3500
A small sleepy town of Rajasthan suddenly comes alive with riot of colours and frenzied burst of activity. An astonishing 50,000 camels converge on the tiny desert town of Pushkar, in India’s state of Rajasthan, for the annual Pushkar Fair. It’s a fascinating and peculiar sight, and a great opportunity to witness an old traditional style Indian festival.
The original intention behind the Pushkar Camel Fair was to attract local camel and cattle traders to do business during the holy Kartik Purnima festival, held in Pushkar around the full moon in the Hindu lunar month of Kartika. The fair has now also become a major tourist attraction.
PUSHKAR FAIR. Very few, if at all any, fairs in the world can match the liveliness of Pushkar. Most people associate the Pushkar Fair with the world’s largest camel fair. But it is much more than that. It is an occasion for villagers from far and near to gather together and enjoy a welcome break from their harsh life of the arid desert. And enjoy they do! In dazzling style and colors.
It is an occasion for Hindu pilgrims to converge for a holy dip in the sacred Pushkar Lake to “wash away the sins of a lifetime” and pay obeisance at the ONLY Brahma temple in the world.
For the visitor, it is an unparalleled and unforgettable experience to capture the vibrancy of the entire state of Rajasthan in one place. Pushkar is not a place. It’s an experience in itself and no words can ever justify the experience one has in Pushkar Fair.
For photographers, it is an unparalleled & unforgettable experience to capture the vibrancy of the entire state of Rajasthan in one place. The frame captures culture, religious legacy, rural flavour and rustic core natural beauty.

– How different are tours and photo tours?
Unlike travel agents who plan your holiday based on what is hot in that season with almost no inclination to offer you what you would want to see, Photo Tours are innovative ways to experience a place through the guidance of a professional photographer. All of our photo tours are fun with a loads of learning and knowledge sharing. Moreover, since the group consists of photography enthusiasts only it makes your experience your experience more focused and fun filled.
– What is the suggested equipment for this tour?
For close up of camels and candid a mid-telephoto lens in the range of 70-200 or even 100-400 works best. Wide angle lenses like 10-22 or 16-35 are required to capture the beautiful ambience of the fair and cover the spectacle called Pushkar Mela. The fairground can be very dusty which can harm your camera, we strongly suggest a dust bag to keep your gear protected when not in use.
– I am a rank beginner in photography / I only have a simple point and shoot camera. Can I be a part of this tour?
Oh yes very much! We always encourage every nature and travel enthusiast whether an experienced photographer or not to attend such organized photo tours. Feel free to be a part of this tour and get to take valuable tips home from our skilled team of experts and other participants as well.
– How many participants are expected to share a Room?
All participants are accommodated in twin-sharing rooms. Single supplements are charged extra. Please inquire with us about your single supplement charges.
